Extra information:
"Manufactured for Gent & Son, 4, 5 & 6 Holborn Circus, London," links this sherd to the London firm G. L. Gent & Son, known in the late Victorian & Edwardian eras for dealing in ceramics & glassware. Holborn Circus was then a bustling commercial hub serving Britain's growing middle class with household items. The piece was specially commissioned for Gent & Son. It may have been part of an advertising plaque, a showroom label, or
branded domestic ware sold through their business. The crazed glaze suggests it was made between the late 1800s and early 1900s
